Marin County Roofing Co. has been family owned and operated since its founding in 1921 by Herbert G. Christ—a young roofing products salesman with a vision to serve a growing Marin County community. At a time when the area had no dedicated roofing contractor, Herb saw an opportunity and launched Marin’s first roofing company.

Over the past 104 years, Marin County Roofing Co. has become a household name, known for quality workmanship, reliable service, and deep local roots. As Marin’s oldest and most established roofing contractor, we’ve proudly provided roofing solutions for homes, businesses, churches, schools, and industrial buildings across the county.

A Tradition Carried Forward

In the 1960s, Herb’s son-in-law Dick Miller took over operations, serving a growing base of loyal customers—many of whom returned for their second or third Marin County Roofing roof. By 1979, Rick Miller joined his father in the business, expanding services to include carpentry, gutter systems, and sheet metal work.

Today, the company remains a proud family enterprise. Rick’s children, Lindsay (alongside her husband Michael) and RJ, have officially taken ownership of the business, becoming the fourth generation to lead Marin County Roofing Co. With a deep respect for its history and a passion for quality service, they are committed to carrying the company forward for another 100 years and beyond.
